Sustainable production and consumption

The Secretariat of the Stockholm Convention has launched an initiative to gather information on products that are free of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) and on the availability of related alternatives to and substitutes. Following a pilot phase, the approach was presented at the fifth session of the Conference of the Parties of the Convention and integrated into the work progamme of the Secretariat. Further activities involving Parties and other key stakeholders will support the phasing-out of POPs and the exchange of information on POPs alternatives and substitutes. An information note contains additional details on the outcomes of a pilot project and the planned next steps.
